Reality of dream house

“The ornament of a house is the friends who frequent it.  There is no event greater in life than the appearance of new persons about our hearth, except it be the progress of the character which draws them.”

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

This painting is inspired by the beautiful old buildings in Europe.  I love how their stonework provides an earthiness and connectedness to the world around them.  I visualized this grand walkway of cobblestone leading up to a wide doorway to somewhere wonderful.  It would welcome visitors and hint at a mystery beyond the doorway framed by a gentle and inviting arch. I have added plenty of trees and flowers to bring color and life to this house.

Phong Trinh's Review

IMHO, the dream concept in your art works is not clearly emphasised. They have more or less real setting related composition and colours ect.. However, I like the way you manage smooth transfer of colours, light and patterns. Your works also have strong structural elements. Obviously you have had lots of practice and experiments with watercolours... Hope you find my comments helpful! All the best!
